IATA predicts that air cargo volume growth will halve in 2025, but airlines will still have a bumper harvest due to shipping delays, tight cargo aircraft capacity and strong cross-border e-commerce. Cargo volume is expected to reach 80 million tons, an increase of 5.8% from 2024. However, in the face of huge demand, pricing remains reasonable as companies proactively ship before the usual key moments and sign short-term contracts to guarantee space. At the same time, air cargo revenue will increase to 15.6% of total airline revenue, and average yields should remain stable, 30% higher than pre-epidemic levels.
